Sister Hazel’s New EP, Water, Debuts at #4 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums Chart and #2 on Billboard’s Independent Albums Chart

NASHVILLE, TN (February 22, 2018) Platinum-selling band, Sister Hazel, are making a splash with their new EP, Water, as the album debuted at #4 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart and #2 on the Independent Albums chart.

“It’s so nice to see the literal “vote” of confidence from our fans,” commented Jett Beres, bass player for the band. “We love our Hazelnuts!”
The six-track EP is Volume I of a collectible compilation series titled, “Elements,” and includes a bonus seventh track that will continue throughout the series. Water is available HERE for purchase and streaming via all major retailers.

The new EP has been embraced by Digital JournalCountry Music Tattle TaleRare Country, Charleston Daily, and many more…
On its six-song EP “Water,” Sister Hazel’s cup truly runneth over with strong harmonies and go-down-good vibes. Tunes like “Roll On Bye” and “Shelter” have the sonic zen of instant Hazel classics, and such songs as “First Time” and “I Stayed For the Girl” deliver strong sentiments with memorable lyrics. The group also makes room for one of its most poignantly heartfelt songs, “You Won’t See Me Again,” which, inspired by a loved-one’s loss due to alcohol, offers a much-needed reminder that hope is never completely beyond one’s grasp, no matter how dire things seem at the time. All in all, the first line of the opening tune “Roll On Bye” sums up this entire outing  by the band. “C’mon in, the water’s fine,” they sing right off the bat, sure in the knowledge that a dive-in will be worth it. And it is. Bill Dean, The Gainesville Sun
“Sister Hazel’s new LP, ‘Water’ is eerily reminiscent of the sounds from past rock legends, Glenn Frey and Tom Petty. Ken Block’s passionate lyrics and touching singing style coupled with the rest of the band’s powerful performance resurrects those stars and places them in a rockabilly light, especially in the track, “Roll on Bye.” It is this LP where the members of Sister Hazel let their hair down and open up to their fans without losing their platinum touch, but, rather, allowing their collaborative styles to shine.” Ed Zagorski, Watertown Daily Times

The country/rock/indie group proves that good music is timeless and honesty and vulnerability are the keys to sustainability….’Water’ proves why it’s the key component of all living things.” Lindsey Sipe, The Country Note

The new EP, “Water,” is set for release February 9, 2018! The six-track EP is Volume I of a collectible compilation series titled, “Elements,” and includes a bonus seventh track that will continue throughout the series. The water element is symbolically often viewed as the source of life and reflection. In the powerful track “You Won’t See Me Again,” co-written by Andrew Copeland, singer and guitarist for the band, he addresses heartbreaking emotions and distress about his own brother-in-law’s fight with alcohol addiction. The emotional delivery of the lyrics by lead vocalist Ken Block came easily and honestly as he is in his 15th year of recovery from alcohol and drug addiction. The loss of his own younger brother-in-law law earlier this year, after a lifelong struggle with this horrible disease, added to the sense of desperation, urgency, and finally hope that this powerful track holds.

“Creatively, we are firing on all cylinders right now. I’m 100% sure that people will hear that excitement and energy instantly on this new EP,” expressed Ken. “We had a blast shaping these songs in the studio and we couldn’t be prouder of the songwriting and the way it all came together! The fact that this is the first in a series of upcoming EP’s that will be released, has us riding a wave of huge momentum and in a really sweet groove musically. We’re pumped about what we’re rolling out on this record. The Hazelnuts asked for it, and we’re responding with more music more frequently. Hold on tight!”

Blending elements of alternative rock, Southern rock, pop and folk, Sister Hazel has been making music together since their 1994 self-titled debut album. The quintet of Ken Block, Jett Beres, Drew Copeland, Ryan Newell and Mark Trojanowski followed up that debut with 1997’s platinum-selling . . . Somewhere More Familiar, which featured hits “All for You” and “Happy.” After 12 albums and more than 20 years together, the five friends from Gainesville, Fla., released their first “country” album, Lighter in the Dark, in 2016.

The 14-song offering debuted at No. 4 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart and featured a bevy of country’s top songwriters, including Rodney Clawson, Chris DeStefano, Ashley Gorley, Luke Laird, Hillary Lindsey and Darius Rucker.

Not only did Darius co-pen “Karaoke Song” with Barry Dean and Sister Hazel’s Drew Copeland, but the former Hootie & the Blowfish frontman provided vocals on the tune.

“Darius has been a friend since both of our bands were touring around in vans and trailers,” says Sister Hazel’s Drew Copeland. “We’ve only had a few opportunities to write together but have always enjoyed the process. I knew the song had something to it when [songwriter] Barry Dean and I walked out of Darius’ house and he was walking back up the steps singing it. I took it to the band on the road that weekend and played a rough demo that we recorded while we were writing and everyone was like, ‘We’ve got to have that song.’ It’s a great song to play live and Darius has joined us onstage a few times to play it. Having him come in the studio and actually sing on the record was a lot of fun. The guy is super busy pretty much all the time, so we’re really thankful he made it happen.”

Sister Hazel‘s brand new video for their hit single, “We Got It All Tonight,” celebrates its broadcast debut on CMT today. Catch the new video on CMT Music and CMT.com.

“We Got It All Tonight,” was co-penned by award-winning songwriters Chris Destefano (Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan),  Ashley Gorley (Tim McGraw, Blake Shelton, Kenny Chesney), andRodney Clawson (Jason Aldean, Florida Georgia Line, Lady Antebellum). The video, directed by Savage Films Producer/Director Christian Breslauer, was shot around Tampa, FL and features the band performing live for the perfect backdrop to the song. Sister Hazel, who recently celebrated their second country Billboard charting album with “Unplugged From Daryl’s House Club,” is hitting the road this summer on the “We Got It All Tonight” tour playing fairs, festivals, and clubs nationwide. Find a full list of tour dates below.

“We got it all Tonight” was one of the very first songs that stood out to us, it just screamed SisterHazel,” said Mark Trojanowski, Sister Hazel’s drummer. “It reminds me so much of one of our song called “Change Your Mind.” We started playing this song live and even before we recorded it, fans were already getting into the song singing the lyrics back. It only made sense for it to be on the record. We are really excited about how it turned out and hope fans really like it.”
